Privacy policy
Run Late has no servers of its own. Your alarms and records stay on your phone, and location is read only when you set your home and while a departure alarm is running.

What we collect
Kept on your phone only: your alarms and schedule, your home and destination, your departure records, any voice you record as an alarm sound, and any sky photo you take for a departure card. None of this is sent to us. Shared with service providers: your subscription status and purchase history (Apple, Google, RevenueCat), a device identifier and app events used to measure our ads (Meta), and coordinates passed to Apple's or Google's own services for addresses, weather, travel time and maps. If you export a diagnostic log from Settings, you choose where it goes. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photo library or advertising identifier, and there is no account.
How location is used
Location is read once when you set your home, and otherwise only from when a departure alarm fires until its mission is complete: 150 feet (about 46 metres) from your door by default, or the distance or number of steps you chose for that alarm. Background access exists only so the measurement keeps running while your screen is locked. Distance is calculated on your phone. To turn coordinates into an address and to show weather, travel time and map previews, coordinates are passed to Apple on iOS (WeatherKit, MapKit and the system geocoder) and to Google on Android (Maps, Routes, Weather and the system geocoder). When a mission completes, the app saves that morning's weather and the name of your district with the day's record, on your phone.
Motion, microphone and camera
Motion and step data are processed on your phone, to count steps in a steps mission and to estimate distance when GPS is weak. The microphone is used only while you record your own alarm sound, and the recording stays on your phone. The camera is used in two places. In a steps mission it can show a live view of the path ahead; this is a preview only, and nothing is recorded or stored. After a mission you can choose to take one photo of the sky for a departure card. That photo stays on your phone and is used only to make the card, and it leaves your phone only if you share the card yourself. Run Late does not read your photo library.
Advertising measurement
To learn which of our ads lead to installs and subscriptions, the app includes Meta's SDK. It records events such as installing and opening the app, finishing onboarding, viewing the subscription screen, and starting a trial or subscription. RevenueCat also sends trial and purchase events to Meta. These events carry a device identifier for this app (the IDFV on iOS), your IP address and an anonymous Meta ID. We do not show a tracking permission prompt and do not access the advertising identifier: on iOS, ad results are measured with Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports only in aggregate, and Apple Ads results with Apple's AdServices attribution. On Android, the advertising identifier permission is removed from the app and advertiser-ID collection is switched off in the Meta SDK. We do not sell your data, run an ad network, or use this data to build an advertising profile of you.
Third parties
Apple and Google provide the platform, the app stores, payments, maps, weather and address lookup. RevenueCat manages your subscription under an anonymous ID. Meta measures our advertising as described above. Each of them handles data under its own privacy policy. We share your data with no one else, and we run no server that stores it.
Storage, retention and deletion
Your alarms, records, recordings and photos are stored in the app on your phone and are deleted when you delete the app. Your subscription is managed by Apple or Google; cancel it in your store account settings. RevenueCat and Meta keep their records under their own retention rules. To ask for those records to be deleted, email us and we will make the request with them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, the CCPA and Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, and object to how it is used. Because Run Late has no accounts and keeps nothing on servers of its own, most of your data is on your phone and under your control. For anything held by our service providers, email us.
Children
Run Late is not directed to children under 13 (under 14 in Korea), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We update this policy when the app changes and note the date at the top. The October 1, 2026 update adds the sky photo for departure cards, Apple Ads attribution, and a fuller description of advertising measurement.
